Was Kelly Slater bei den Pipe Masters vorgemacht hat, hat er beim Volcom Pipe Pro 2014 direkt wiederholt. Er hat GEWONNEN! Und somit seinen 66 ASP Tourstopp! Gratulation. 

Slater ließ in den perfekten Bedingungen wie immer nichts anbrennen. Im Finale setzte er sich gegen „Runner-Up“ Wiggolly Dantas aus Brasilien, den Local Mason Ho und Adriano De Souza durch. Slater ballerte nicht  nur 5 der 10 besten Wertungen raus (10, 9.83, 9.77, 9.73 und 9.53), sondern auch noch den Top Heat Score des Events mit einer 19.77!

„This was some of the best Pipe I’ve ever surfed in my life. There were some really gnarly, intense, kind of vicious waves this morning. It was really doubling up, a new swell, it was a little bit wonky.“ so Kelly nach dem Sieg.
